I was born in Austin Texas and moved here to the high desert when I was eight years old. I graduated from Serrano high school in the year 2000 and became a mom shortly after that.
I spent most of my young adult life working retail management to take care of my family. In 2014 one of my good friends from high school had messaged me on Facebook and said “hey did you wanna go try Crossfit ?” In my younger years I was in all kinds of sports and activities in school but I was in my 30s and haven’t really done much exercising or activity beside your occasional half marathon or 5K, or something to that effect, nothing too crazy. Well Nicole decided to drag me in every day to CrossFit class 5 to 6 days a week, and it just became our thing and I absolutely fell in love with it so I dragged my family in!! I also found out that I’m actually kind of strong. In 2016 I lost my friend Nicole to cancer and I decided that I was going to pursue my coaching career and CrossFit so I could help others fall in love with it the way that I did. In 2018 I decided to open my own affiliate. That’s where the name Fight for it comes from due to my friend Nicole’s fight, and the fight we all fight every day!! Over the years I’ve helped many people from ages six to ages 70 help reach their goals whether it’s health and fitness or just a place to go and get away from life struggles. Here we are five years down the road and I’m still continuing to do those things and meet a lot of people that have the same goals and interests that I do and it is my goal to make sure that I can help as many people as I can here in the high desert. I have just opened our second location and can wait to provide the same great experience!
COACH
Stephanie Gordon
I started my CrossFit journey in 2015 and fell instantly in love. As an ex-D1 athlete, I felt lost after college. I was married and a newish mother but was missing something until I found CrossFit.
I discovered I was able to translate many of my athletic skills into my newest endeavor and wanted to share how amazing CrossFit really is. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’ve done in the past, there is something for everyone. As a middle school teacher and a coach I enjoy helping others reach their goals.
